All of your data is stored locally on your device. PrayerConnect does not use any cloud servers or external databases. Your notes, contacts, and prayer requests never leave your phone. This means your information is as secure as your device itself.
Yes! PrayerConnect supports iCloud Sync to keep your data in perfect sync across your iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices. When you enable sync, you choose exactly how your data is handled — use your iCloud data, keep your device's data, or merge both. Your data stays in your personal iCloud — never on our servers.
No. PrayerConnect works entirely offline with no account required. There is no sign-up, no email verification, and no login. Just download and start using the app immediately.
PrayerConnect includes App Lock — protect your prayer journal with Face ID or passcode security. When enabled, the app requires authentication each time it's opened, keeping your most personal reflections private.
You can delete individual people, notes, or prayer cards directly in the app using swipe actions. To delete all your data at once, go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete All Data. You can also simply uninstall the app, which will permanently remove all data since everything is stored locally.
Prayer topics are categories like Health, Family, Finances, Career, Grief, Guidance, and more. You can tag people and prayers with these topics to organize your prayer life. PrayerConnect comes with built-in topics, and you can create your own custom topics in Settings.
General prayers are prayer requests that aren't tied to a specific person — such as prayers for your nation, community, weather events, or other needs. You can manage them from the Prayers tab alongside your people-specific prayer cards.
Go to Settings → Export Data to create a complete backup file of all your people, prayers, notes, and settings. Save it to iCloud Drive or your device. To restore, use Settings → Import Data and select your backup file. We recommend backing up regularly.
Swipe left on any prayer card or list item to reveal quick actions like Edit, Pin, Mark as Answered, or Delete. Swipe right to reveal additional actions. These work across your prayers, general prayers, blessings, and more — just like your favorite email app.
Yes! PrayerConnect is fully optimized for iPad with the same feature set as iPhone. When combined with iCloud Sync, your data stays perfectly in sync across both devices.
AI Prayer Generation creates a personalized written prayer for anyone in your prayer list. It draws on the notes, prayer topics, and profile details you have entered for that person, as well as your own faith profile, to write something specific and meaningful. You review it, choose to keep it or try again, and it's saved to that person's profile.

Yes. AI features require a paid API key from either Anthropic (the company behind Claude) or Google (Gemini). You pay them directly — PrayerConnect charges nothing for AI features.
Starter or free-tier API keys from both providers are often rate-limited and do not work reliably in apps. A paid key is required for consistent results.

When you generate a prayer, your device sends a focused set of details directly to your chosen AI provider — the person's name, their prayer topics, a brief summary of their current season, and your faith profile. PrayerConnect is not in the middle: the data goes from your device to Anthropic or Google, and the response comes straight back.
Your API key is stored exclusively in your iPhone's Keychain and is never transmitted anywhere. Phone numbers, email addresses, and photos are never sent. AI features are always opt-in and can be removed at any time in Settings.

PrayerConnect is a privacy-first application. All information you enter — names, contact details, notes, and prayer requests — remains on your device by default. PrayerConnect does not collect or store your data on external servers. If you choose to enable optional AI features, certain data you have entered is sent directly to your chosen third-party AI provider (Anthropic or Google Gemini). See Section 8 for full details.
Your data is used exclusively to provide PrayerConnect's prayer tracking features. We do not sell or share any information with third parties, except as described in Section 8 when AI features are optionally enabled by you.
By default, all data processing occurs locally on your device and no data is sent to external servers. The optional AI features described in Section 8 involve sending specific fields to a third-party AI provider. These features are off by default and require your explicit consent to activate.
Your data is stored locally on your device within the app's secure storage bundle. Because there is no cloud element or backend server, your data's security is tied directly to your device's security features (such as your passcode or biometric authentication).
When iCloud Sync is enabled, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account — encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. PrayerConnect never accesses, reads, or stores your sync data on our servers. Only devices signed into your Apple ID can access this data.
You have complete control over your data. You can delete individual records or all of your data at any time from within the app. Since your data is not stored on any servers, deleting the app from your device will also permanently delete all associated data.
PrayerConnect is designed for general use and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13, as no data is collected by us in the first place. AI features require a paid API key and are intended for adult use.
AI features are fully optional and disabled by default. When enabled, prayer notes and person details you have entered are sent directly from your device to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic Claude or Google Gemini) to generate prayer suggestions. PrayerConnect never stores or sees this data.
Phone numbers, email addresses, and photos are never sent. Your API key is stored exclusively in iOS Keychain on your device and is never transmitted to PrayerConnect. Your use of AI features is subject to your chosen provider's privacy policy and terms of service.
PrayerConnect provides all features, including AI features, on an as-is basis with no warranty of any kind. The developers expressly disclaim all liability for any harm, loss, or consequence arising from AI-generated content or from the actions of third-party AI providers.
By enabling AI features, you acknowledge that PrayerConnect acts solely as a conduit between you and your chosen AI provider and bears no responsibility for content generated by that provider. Nothing in this application constitutes pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, or professional advice of any kind.
